Project #2: Pointillism Paintings
Students viewed Georges Seurat's pointillism paintings to become inspired. After drawing a simple pencil design/picture on paper, students used q-tips and watercolor paint to apply their dots. They focused on creating uniform, consistent, and cohesive dots leaving little to no white space on their paper. Students also added different tints and shades within their colored dots to show value. Below is the Pointillism presentation.

Project #4: Reductive Printmaking Quilts
Students developed a custom Styrofoam stamp using lines, patterns, and geometric/organic shapes. They pressed down certain areas of the foam, used white ink to ink the foam, and printed their stamp 9 times onto colored paper. After washing their stamp, students pressed down more areas, used black ink to ink their stamp, and printed 9 times over their white prints. The result is a repeated, 3-color design grid resembling a quilt.
